Fine Quality Jade Chinese Character for Buddha on a Lotus Flower Pendant

This is a very fine quality hand carved Jade Pendant with the Chinese character for Buddha set on a Lotus Flower. The Lotus Flower is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism. According to legend, before the Buddha was born, his mother, Queen Maya, dreamed of a white bull elephant carrying a white Lotus in its trunk. Buddhas are often portrayed as seated or standing on a lotus pedestal as this character is. This pendant was hand carved with great detail by a fourth generation Chinese Master Jade Carver. The color of this Jade pendant are gorgeous creamy White Jade. The quality, color and clarity of the Jade is excellent. The translucent quality is also excellent.
